Torino and Palermo played out a goalless first half however the home side should have been ahead after 15 minutes when Giuseppe Vives spurned a glorious chance after a Matteo Brighi pass across the box found its way to his feet but he could only scoop the ball over with the whole goal to aim at.

Just four minutes later, they came even closer when Paulo Barreto clipped a ball over the defence which Bianchi chested down expertly on the edge of the area and drove a vicious volley against the upright. As the half wore on though, the Rosanero warmed to their task but no breakthrough for either team.

Torino kept their unbeaten home run going with a 0-0 draw against Palermo in Serie A Fabrizio Miccoli was first to go close with a header which went over the bar.

Cerci's corner was headed on to the far post where Danilo D'Ambrosio needed to provide just the slightest of touches to score, but he failed to oblige. Toro really should have found the winner with just minutes left though when the ball broke kindly following a Bianchi effort to an unmarked Meggiorini whose weak shot was saved by Stefano Sorrentino’s feet.
