Fiorentina absolutely dominated Inter and were unfortunate to only lead 2-0 at the break through Adem Ljajic and Stevan Jovetic. It was all Fiorentina in the opening stages and the opening goal seemed inevitable. It arrived when a Manuel Pasqual cross was flicked on by Jovetic to reach the unmarked Adem Ljajic for a diving header from six yards.

Moments later Jovetic had acres of space to gather a pull-back and prepare his shot, forcing Handanovic into a tough save. Then came the moment of the first half when Stevan Jovetic dribbled away from Andrea Ranocchia and curled an unstoppable right-foot strike into the far top corner from the edge of the box to out the home team firmly in control.

Fiorentina have moved to within a point of fifth-placed Inter Milan thanks to a 4-1 win at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in Serie A. The home side continued to dominate in the second half and Jovetic made it 3-0 on 55 minutes after Juan Cuadrado's back heel found the striker in the area.

Inter's players knew the game was over from there and Fiorentina made it four through Adem Ljajic, who curled one in from the edge of the area to confirm the points. Antonio Cassano grabbed a late consolation for the away side with a fantastic strike from distance, but it was all too late as Fiorentina ran out dominant winners.
