Laudrup distances himself from Everton job


Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup ruled himself out of the running to take over as Everton manager on Friday.

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has been linked to a host of clubs due to his successful first season in charge at the Liberty Stadium.

The Dane helped guide the Swans to their first ever major trophy when they lifted the League Cup last February with a 5-0 win over Bradford City in the final.

On Friday Laudrup dismissed the idea that he'd take over at Everton after their manager David Moyes agreed a six-year deal at Manchester United to replace Sir Alex Ferguson.

Swansea are currently ninth in the English Premier League and travel to Old Trafford for Sir Alex Ferguson's final home match after nearly 27 years in charge.

"Pure speculation, like when some of my players are linked to other clubs or when some players are linked to our club. It's speculation and don't want to comment on it.

Q: Has there been any contact with you or with Swansea?
"I haven't spoken to anyone (at Everton), I don't have time to speak. I have so much work to do."
